Ecom’s Android™ Smartphones and Feature phones, the Smart-Ex® series (ATEX / IECEx Zone 1/21 & Division 1, ATEX / IECEx Zone 2 and Division 2) and the Ex-Handy 209 (ATEX / IECEx Zone 2 and Division 2), can be used as an intrinsically safe camera in hazardous areas. When combined with MDM (Mobile Device Management) or “Kiosk mode“ software, Smart-Ex® Camera offers a more prudent investment and future-proof option compared to traditional „Ex“ cameras. Such software is used to limit the access to specific functions on the device. And, when combined with Bluetooth “BLE“, such as the ecom Loc-Ex 01, Smart-Ex® Camera can be configured to automatically disable the camera in sensitive plant locations, and re-enable the camera in authorised areas – providing the convenience of a camera without the business risk.
Camera only – Via kiosk mode the functionality of the Smart-Ex® 01 can be limited to using only the camera function.
